‘I was wrong’ – Prophet Bernard Nelson apologizes over failed NPP prophecy

Prophet Bernard Elbernard Nelson-Eshun has issued a public apology after a prophetic declaration he made concerning the New Patriotic Party’s presidential primaries failed to materialise.
In a statement titled “Public Statement & Apology,” the prophet admitted that his widely circulated prediction that Kennedy Ohene Agyapong would win the NPP presidential primaries and emerge as the party’s flagbearer did not come to pass.
“That word did not come to pass. I missed it. I was wrong, I am deeply sorry, and I ask for your forgiveness,” he stated.
The prophecy, which was shared through a book, videos, and several media interviews, gained significant public attention ahead of the primaries, influencing political conversations and expectations within and outside the party.
Prophet Nelson-Eshun acknowledged that the declaration had broader consequences, noting that many people placed trust in his prophetic authority.
“Because I spoke publicly with prophetic authority, many people trusted my word, and some were affected emotionally, spiritually, and politically,” he said.
In a rare and direct admission, the prophet took full responsibility for the failed prophecy and rejected any attempt to deflect blame.
“I take full responsibility for this prophetic word. I do not blame anyone or shift responsibility. I accept that this prophecy, as declared, failed,” he stated.
He apologised particularly to individuals who made decisions based on the declaration and to believers who felt disappointed or wounded by the outcome.
“I am especially sorry to those who made decisions based on what I declared,” he added.
Prophet Nelson-Eshun also expressed concern that the incident may have affected public confidence in prophetic ministry and faith itself.
“I offer my apology to any believer in whom my actions may have sown doubt regarding the voice of God and His ability to speak to His people,” he said.
He described the moment as one of reflection and reassessment, pledging to realign himself with greater accountability and discernment in communicating prophetic revelations going forward.
The apology has sparked widespread discussion, with many observers describing it as an uncommon display of accountability within Ghana’s prophetic landscape.
The statement was signed and dated by Prophet Bernard Elbernard Nelson-Eshun, who also thanked those who corrected him and continue to pray for him.
