Ewura Adams Karim pledges to put NDC grassroots at the centre of party communication

Ewura Adams Karim has pledged to place grassroots supporters at the centre of the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) communication strategy if elected Deputy National Communications Officer.
Mr. Karim said party foot soldiers and community-level supporters deserved greater recognition for their sacrifices and should have their concerns reflected in the party’s messaging.
In his declaration speech, he identified inspiring grassroots supporters as one of the three major responsibilities of an effective party communicator.
He cited party members in Adansi Asokwa, market women in Dabala and young people in Sege as examples of supporters whose contributions must not be overlooked.
“This person must keep their hope alive and remind them that their sacrifice was never in vain,” Karim said, referring to the role of a communicator in sustaining grassroots morale.
He pledged to establish a structured approach to incorporating the experiences and concerns of grassroots members into the party’s communication agenda.
Among his five commitments, he promised to create “a structured voice for the grassroots, with the foot soldiers’ stories and sacrifices at the center of our message.”
Karim said his experience working directly with community members had taught him the importance of listening to their concerns rather than limiting political engagement to public appearances and media discussions.
He explained that his service to the NDC had taken several forms, including communication, community organising, fundraising and serving as a master of ceremonies.
“I have sat on panels and defended our positions on radio, television and social media. And I have also sat on the floor with grassroots members, listening and working towards addressing the many concerns that they have,” he said.
Karim argued that effective communication must also attract undecided voters and respond to opposition criticism with evidence rather than insults.
He said the party needed communicators who could explain its policies clearly while maintaining the confidence of supporters who had worked towards its electoral success.
He further pledged to promote unity across the party, describing collective action as essential to its strength.
“Our strength comes from standing together,” he said.
Mr. Karim appealed to delegates to support his bid, promising to work with party members at all levels and ensure that grassroots supporters played a more visible role in the party’s communication efforts.
