Ewura Adams Karim cites jobs in bid for NDC communications role

Ewura Adams Karim has highlighted his community development work, including job creation and free healthcare for more than 8,000 people, as part of his bid to become Deputy National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Mr. Karim, who is the co-founder and executive director of the Maltiti Foundation, said his work with the organization had given him practical experience in community engagement and service delivery.
In his declaration speech, he said the foundation had trained women in agriculture, created hundreds of jobs and provided free healthcare to more than 8,000 women and men across the Northern, Savannah and Oti regions.
He also said the foundation had collaborated with the Accra Food Bank to provide food to more than 2,000 families.
According to Karim, the organisation had further supported girls with vocational skills in Saboba and reached hundreds of Kayayei women and girls with reproductive health education.
Introducing his record of community service, he stated: “But a voice must be backed by work.”
Karim said the initiatives reflected his commitment to supporting vulnerable groups and addressing community needs through practical interventions.
He also cited his participation in international leadership programmes, including the Obama Africa Leaders initiative, the Mandela Washington Fellowship and WEXFO, which he identified as part of his professional development.
Despite these international opportunities, he said serving his party and country remained a priority.
“No honour abroad has ever been greater than the honour of serving my own party and my country,” he said.
Karim also highlighted his experience within the NDC, saying he had served the party as a communicator, community organiser, fundraiser and master of ceremonies.
He said his work had involved defending the party’s positions on radio, television and social media, as well as engaging directly with grassroots members to understand their concerns.
“I have spent my years communicating, speaking, listening and strategizing. I do not just do communication. I live communication,” he stated.
If elected Deputy National Communications Officer, Karim pledged to strengthen the party’s rapid-response capacity, train communicators across the regions and constituencies, and place grassroots supporters at the centre of its messaging.
He also promised to expand the party’s digital presence and promote unity among its members.
Appealing to delegates for their support, he pledged to bring his communication experience and commitment to community service to the position.
