Mahama was truthful, accountable to Ghanaians – Franklin Cudjoe

Franklin Cudjoe says the President displayed openness and practical leadership during the session.
The President of IMANI Africa, Franklin Cudjoe, has praised President John Dramani Mahama for his recent media engagement, describing it as a strong demonstration of honesty, wisdom, and accountability.
He said the session highlighted Mahama’s willingness to be open and engage directly with the Ghanaian public.
Speaking on Citi FM’s The Big Issue on Saturday, September 13, Cudjoe noted that Mahama came across as a humane and practical leader. He emphasized that the President’s remarks reflected truthfulness and knowledge, qualities he believes are rare in today’s political environment.
“My immediate impressions were clearly that this president was actually quite humane. He was truthful, he was wise, he was knowledgeable, he was practical and verifiably accountable,” Cudjoe said while assessing Mahama’s media engagement.
He stressed that such leadership qualities were reassuring in a time when political accountability is being demanded by the public.
Cudjoe further observed that Mahama’s openness during the media encounter was consistent with his track record of making himself available for public scrutiny. “I think one of the things we are witnessing in this era is essentially the fact that we have leaders who are willing to come forward, and I think John has been like that, by the way,” he added.
Beyond his praise for Mahama, the IMANI Africa President also applauded the journalists who participated in the session, describing the event as “characteristically brilliant” due to the professionalism and depth of engagement shown throughout the encounter.
President John Dramani Mahama recently held his first major media encounter since assuming office. The session provided an opportunity for journalists to question him directly on governance, economic reforms, national security, and accountability.
