Creativity and innovation will shape tomorrow’s careers – Dr. Apaak

Deputy Minister for Education, Dr. Clement Apaak, has urged young people to embrace creativity, innovation and critical thinking, saying these qualities will define success in the rapidly changing world of work.
Addressing the graduation ceremony of Springforth Community School’s Class of 2026, Dr. Apaak said technological advancements and emerging industries are transforming career opportunities, making creativity one of the most valuable skills for future generations.
Speaking on the theme, “Creativity Unleashed: Shaping Tomorrow’s Careers Today,” he said students must prepare themselves for careers that may not even exist today.
“We are living in an era of rapid technological advancement. New industries are emerging, traditional careers are evolving, and opportunities that did not exist a decade ago are now transforming the global economy,” he said.
Dr. Apaak explained that creativity extends beyond the arts and involves solving problems, identifying opportunities and developing innovative solutions.
“Creativity is not limited to art, music, or design. It is the ability to solve problems, identify opportunities, develop ideas, and create value,” he stated.
The Deputy Minister also encouraged students to embrace lifelong learning, saying success in the future will depend on adaptability, collaboration and continuous acquisition of knowledge.
He noted that although Artificial Intelligence is changing the nature of work, human imagination and creativity remain irreplaceable.
“Artificial Intelligence and other emerging technologies may change the nature of work, but they cannot replace human imagination, curiosity, empathy, and creativity,” he stressed.
Dr. Apaak encouraged the graduates to think boldly, embrace innovation and use their talents to create solutions that will benefit society.
