Dress a Kid rolls out Project 1000 for underserved children in Gomoa Anama

A relief organisation, Dress a Kid, has launched Project 1000 to provide essential supplies to underserved children in Gomoa Anama in the Central Region.
The initiative is aimed at supporting schoolchildren with basic learning materials and personal items, as part of efforts to improve their educational experience and general well-being.
A source familiar with the planning process told Today News that the group is mobilising resources from the general public to make the project successful. Items being requested include exercise books, school bags, shoes, clothing, Fante textbooks and storybooks to meet the diverse needs of the children.
The source indicated that the initiative forms part of Dress a Kid’s broader commitment to supporting vulnerable communities through targeted interventions that focus on education and child welfare.
As part of preparations, the group has scheduled the donation exercise for July 3, 2026, when collected items will be distributed to beneficiaries in Gomoa Anama.
In addition to material donations, the group is appealing to individuals to volunteer their time and skills to support mobilisation and coordination efforts ahead of the event.
Volunteers are expected to assist with outreach, collection and sorting of donated items to ensure a smooth distribution process.
The organisers have also opened multiple channels to make participation accessible.
Individuals willing to contribute in cash can do so via mobile money on 0595351539, while further enquiries and volunteer coordination can be directed to 0266647342.
The initiative is expected to bring together individuals, groups and institutions interested in contributing to the welfare of children in underserved communities, while reinforcing the importance of collective action in addressing educational challenges.
Project 1000 is positioned as a practical step towards easing the burden on families and equipping children in Gomoa Anama with the tools they need to stay in school and succeed academically.
