Ghana’s Economy: When you meet NPP, you meet ‘satan’ the destroyer – Sebastian writes

Since the inception of the fourth Republic, Ghana have witnessed two party system till date, despite the presence of other smaller parties like the CPP, PNC, PPP and few others
NDC and NPP are two political parties that have ruled this country till date
When the NPP won the 2000 election with their flag bearer the then John Agyekum Kufour many things happened
When the former president Kufour took over Ghana, he said, as for him and his government, they can’t think and create anything good so they took Ghana to HIPC. Highly indebted poor country.
According to the HIPC programme, any member countries that we owed are to forgive us our debts repayment responsibility
We heard the noise of many countries that have forgiven their debts. All that former president Kuffou claimed he did were out of the HIPC initiative such as some toilets that were painted red, yellow and green with the inscription HIPC benefit. The HIPC initiative program was for six years that was why Ghana existed the program in 2006.
What was surprising was when former president Kufour described the economy that was handed to him by the late former president Rawlings as a broken economy. In fact, that same economy built the Aboadze Thermal plant with so many rural electrification projects. National health scheme was piloted under that same government.
Interestingly, the economy that former president Rawlings left, was paying salaries, paying statutory funds and honouring our international commitments as well. That same economy organized the year 2000 free and fair election that brought Kufour to power.
When in 2006 the country got to the existing point for the HIPC, president Kufour could not manage the economy with his so called team of men and so, he has to redenominate the Ghanaian cedi at the time but that could not solve the problem and in 2007, his government sold Ghana Telecommunication to Vodafone before he was able to pay salaries and buy fuel for government vehicles
I recalled Mr. Kwame Pianim said, without selling Ghana Telecommunication the economy will crash
In fact, what former president Kufour did was the same as what Akufo-Addo is doing now. Just as Kufour condemned the economy left to him by former late President Rawlings same is how Akufo-Addo/Bawumia is also condemning President Mahama’s economy which he left for them and bastardizing his reason for going to the IMF program. As karma is just a matter of time, they are also at the IMF today but went in wheelchair driven by the ambulance with oxygen on them
An economy that established ESLA, sinking fund, borrowed Ghc56 billion and was able to accomplish so many important things like the UGMC, District hospitals across the regions, the renovated Ridge hospital, terminal 3′ and even left over one million dollars in various accounts such as the stabilization fund and the sinking fund just to mention a few
To them, they thought governance is all about talk, promising to move Ghana from taxation to production, one District-one-Factory and so on, is like putting fufu into a plate and eating.
What exactly has Akufo-Addo done for Ghana as an accomplishment? All the big talks of changing the Guggisbuŕg economy from taxation to production were political talk aimed to enrich their pockets
Akufo-Addo promised to change Ghana and indeed he has changed Ghana in a backwards direction. Imagine that government securities which we were told is the safest has become the dangerous and riskiest in Ghana today.
That broken economy which you claim President Mahama left for you, built the Kejetia market in Kumasi, he built the Ho airport, solved dumber and sales fuel at Ghc14.00 a gallon with an exchange rate at 3.9 to the dollar.
Comparatively, Akufo-Addo and Bawumia are not the class to President Mahama.
Honestly, this Akufo-Addo and his government is made up of Tagborkukutorwo who cannot think to create and do anything meaningful for Ghana.
Today, Ghana is broke whilst Akufo-Addo and his families are richer than Ghana. Everything Ghana seems to become their own.
Former president Kuffour also sold state lands to his party people like the former speaker Mr. Seckye Begina Hughes, Kwamina Bartels and some justices of the courts and others
How can a whole government be shameless in stealing president Mahama’ projects, Such as Planting for food and jobs, digital transport system, Ridge hospital renovation, Pokuase interchange, Tema to Akosombo railway construction and many other projects that were created ?
NDC, is indeed the life blood of Ghana’s democracy and development. It is only the NDC, that tries to develop Ghana whenever she is in government.
All the records tell that NDC is the future of Ghana and the downtrodden. Any time that NDC government is in power, it tries to empower the voiceless and the powerless.
