I’m not old; I’ll contest 2028 elections — Isaac Adongo

Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central, Isaac Adongo, has announced his intention to contest the 2028 parliamentary elections. He says he is still young and capable of continuing his service to the people.
Mr Adongo said his motivation stems from his desire to deepen his impact in Bolgatanga Central, noting that longevity in Parliament enables lawmakers to achieve greater results for their constituents.
“I am still young, and I believe there’s more I can do for my people. Some of my colleagues like Dr Dominic Ayine, Mahama Ayariga, and Haruna Iddrisu have served for a long time because they continue to make a difference. I also want to keep contributing,” he stated.
He rejected claims that he has not been impactful as an MP, explaining that he works quietly to support people without seeking publicity. “It is something I do on a daily basis, except that I do not go with cameramen. My politics is such that I place human dignity first and above anything,” he said.
According to him, he often helps vulnerable individuals privately. “If a small child comes from a family that cannot take care of them, and I step in to help, I cannot take cameramen along. It is not in my DNA,” he added.
The MP said the people of Bolgatanga Central will soon see the tangible results of his years in office, which will influence their decision to retain him. “I have a job for four years. If I deliver it well, that seat is in my hands. If I don’t deliver it, I can’t blame anybody,” he said.
Mr Adongo concluded that political experience is a crucial tool for development. “In this game, the longer you stay and the more impact you make, the better you are at supporting your people. We cannot take three steps forward and one step back to start all over again,” he remarked.
