Mahama sings Julius Debrah praises over Kwahu Business Summit initiative

President John Dramani Mahama has praised Chief of Staff Julius Debrah for his role in initiating the Kwahu Business Forum.
Addressing participants at the ongoing Kwahu Business Forum in the Eastern Region, President Mahama credited Julius Debrah for conceiving the idea and ensuring its successful execution.
He pointed out that Debrah’s strong connection to the people of Kwahu and Ghana influenced the vision behind the initiative.
“My friend and co-conspirator, Julius Debrah, conceived the idea that as we gather in Kwahu to celebrate, we must also create a business forum focused on Ghana’s economic future,” he said.
The President went on to explain how the forum has developed over time, describing its journey from an early concept into a major part of the Easter celebrations in Kwahu.
He emphasized that Julius Debrah played a central role in shaping the forum into a platform that brings together key stakeholders in the economy.
As the forum continues to expand, President Mahama also revealed plans to improve infrastructure and increase its long-term impact.
He announced that discussions are ongoing with private sector partners to upgrade facilities at the venue.
“We want to take this whole thing a step further. We are working with Metalex and Trasacco to build a permanent convention, conference and exhibition center on this site,” he said.
He added that there are plans to improve accessibility to the area.
“We want to have an airstrip here so that flights can come in, both domestically and people from outside who want to come and attend conferences,” he stated.
The Kwahu Business Forum has become an important national platform that brings together business leaders, policymakers, investors, and entrepreneurs to discuss issues related to economic growth and private sector development.
Originally launched in 2024 as a small stakeholder engagement during the Kwahu Easter celebrations, the forum has grown steadily over the years. Now in its third edition in 2026, it is held at the Kwahu Convention Centre in Mpraeso and continues to provide opportunities for networking, investment discussions, and policy dialogue focused on Ghana’s development.
