My gov’t will support artisans – Mahama
The 2024 flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has pledged to implement a scheme aimed at benefiting master craftsmen and women if he is elected in the 2024 general elections.
He said, the programme if implemented would support craftsmen in training apprentices and provide artisans with financial assistance and start-up equipment.
Mr Mahama highlighted that his administration would place a strong emphasis on technical and vocational education.
He shared his admiration for the hardworking artisans in local communities during his travels to Sawla and Wa.
In a Facebook post on Thursday, June 13, 2024, the NDC flagbearer expressed his commitment to uplifting the craftsmanship sector, recognising the vital role it plays in the economy and the community.
“I had an incredibly exciting experience on my way to Wa earlier today [Thursday]. Between Sawla and Wa, I made a few whistle-stops to interact with some passionate, hardworking artisans in the local communities.
