NDC communication front miserably losing the “New Media”(Internet) war

Our communication outfit headed by Hon Sammy Gyamfi we can say without any shilly-shallying or dilly-dallying or equivocation that things are aptly being put in place when it comes to old the media.
Our communicators on Radio and TV are doing a yeoman’s job. Making sure they pinpoints the porousness and bleakness of how this economy have become to the public, which has being echoing continually in their minds.
In Media Convergence, Radio, Television and Print media is known to be the old media, and therefore these three distinct media have been converged into one media which is the internet, known as the new media. Now all media outlets broadcasts live on social media. Why? Because it’s now in the New Media, lies the real competition for programming to attract more audience, advertisers and sponsors worldwide.
What we have observed and monitored for some time now is that, the NDC communication outfit is seriously losing the Social Media War. On Facebook and Twitter especially. There are tons of pages, but these two social media pages are the top guns.
Our communication front, has to pay attention to the social media communicators. They need support and motivation. Let them be supported to create more social media accounts, let’s know by constituencies, how many social media soldiers do they have? How can they create multiple accounts and be following each other, retweeting, and sharing each other work continuously.
Every constituency must at least be able to produce 30 Social Media real fighters. These 30 will be on a common regional and national platforms to be following each other nationwide.
Let’s not underrate the New Media to the old media claiming that how many people are on social media?
Now in Ghana it’s obvious that 98% of the villages has some people living in those villages who are on social media. Remember, in a household of ten people, it’s likely one will be on social media, and that one can spread the message to the remaining nine by showing it to them or by verbally telling them. We must know that villages that suffers from television and radio networks, has most of the farmers on social media.
Our plea is for our communication outfit to start paying more attention to the New Media which is social media. Npp have demolished us in these few weeks with this Airbus and Hon Ato Forson’s error saga on Twitter and Facebook especially. The war out there is been lost by the NDC and it’s a matter of urgency.
