Unrepentant Kennedy Agyapong fires wild shot at Ghanaians again – CMD writes

CAUCUS FOR MATURE DEMOCRATS (CMD)
PRESS RELEASE
TO ALL MEDIA HOUSES
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
THURSDAY 16 AUGUST 2025
UNREPENTANT KENNEDY AGYAPONG FIRES WILD SHOT AT GHANAIANS AGAIN.
The Caucus For Mature Democrats (CMD) is appalled by the reckless utterances of Kennedy Agyapong criticising Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for conceding early defeat in the past December 7th 2024, General Election before the official declaration of the Electoral Commission. He claimed he would never concede defeat like that in this country.
CMD and many Citizens are of the view that what Dr Bawumia did was rather the best under the circumstances at the time, and we commend Bawumia for that singular act of Statesmanship.
We think that after Kennedy Agyapong himself read to Ghanaians his “ten (10) sins,” the NPP members released for his attention indicated that it was sufficient evidence or reason why they think handing the country over to Kennedy Agyapong was a disaster.
Instead of him to repent from such SINS, his own party noticed and indicted him about his actions, he rather went haywire, adding more to his SINS. Now, instead of 10 sins, he has willingly added one, making it 11 sins now.
For instance, many of us are of the view that issues like declaring war in the country, his promise to burn down President John Mahama, his house, his family, Asiedu Nketiah, Brig Gen Larry Gbevlo Lartey (Rtd), and others in the opposition NDC, were indeed reckless and irresponsible.
According to Kennedy Agyapong himself, the NPP explained that just because he suspected and accused them of being responsible for the burnt markets in the country at the time was reckless and unbecoming of a presidential hopeful.
Another sin NPP labelled against Kennedy Agyapong was that he declared that the NPP lost the 2024 election way back in 2022 when Dr Bawumia, as the head of the country’s Economic Management Team, supervised the collapse of the economy to junk and Debt Distressed status. He said that was the time Ghanaians decided to vote against the NPP.
CMD wants to place on record that, Kennedy Agyapong saying that the npp needs strong and bold men like him to lead npp was reckless, regrettable and sad because, in building any country under the sun, moon and stars, we don’t need bold and strong people like Kennedy Agyapong, rather we need humble, respectful and visionary people to lead in building any country in any democratic dispensation around the world.
Presidents of Ghana don’t get to the presidency with their own strength or through the barrel of the gun in recent times, if Kennedy Agyapong doesn’t know, but through the votes of the very citizens, politicians like Kennedy Agyapong, former president Akufo-Addo, Laud Chommey, and Bryan Acheampong have since refused to respect and honour for being the kingmakers of our country.
The Caucus For Mature Democrats also thinks that Kennedy Agyapong has refused to adhere to the wise advice of former president John Agyekum Kuffuor that the NPP must not look for a violent person, but they should instead look for a unifier and one who can pull members of the NPP together.
CMD fully condemns in no uncertain terms the reckless utterances of Kennedy Agyapong and urges Ghanaians not to buy into any presidential hopeful who advocates for violence because there is no country that develops, progresses, and prospers on the back of violence and aggression. Therefore, such violent people must be closely monitored if we truly want our peace, democracy, and country together.
CMD wants to make it abundantly clear to Kennedy Agyapong that he should disabuse and distance his mind from thinking he is the only strong person in Ghana because there is a Dagomba saying that “ka pag yino ko ndoagri biyeriga”, to wit, it is not only one woman who is capable of giving birth to a brave and stubborn child.
In conclusion CMD advise all citizens to be law-abiding since the law is still the law, and we commend H.E. President John Dramani Mahama and his able Lieutenants for doing very well so far, promulgating policies that help in reducing the inflation, reducing our public debt level he inherited, making the cedi strong against the dollar and also reducing prices of goods and services thereby easing the suffering and burdens of all citizens of Ghana.
We finally expect the president and his government to boldly confiscate all assets acquired criminally by members of the Akufo-Addo-led government to the state, including government lands, the expensive cathedral pit, to serve as a deterrent to criminals and thieves having the mindset to tread on such criminal routes in the future.
The president must also not forget the houses of the judges that were recklessly pulled down at the site of the expensive cathedral pit without due process being followed. Ghanaians deserve better in the dispensation of justice, and the time to act is now!
Comrade Baba Iddrisu, the Executive Secretary of CMD
