Zanetor condemns fatal stabbing at Kinbu SHS

Member of Parliament for the Klottey-Korle Constituency, Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, has expressed deep sorrow and outrage following the tragic stabbing incident that occurred at Kinbu Senior High School on Thursday, July 31, 2025.
The incident, which resulted in the fatal and senseless loss of a young student, has sparked widespread grief and renewed calls for safety reforms in Ghanaian schools.
In a press release issued on Friday, August 1, 2025, Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings condemned the act of violence, describing it as shocking and heartbreaking. She extended her condolences to the bereaved family, the student body, faculty, and the entire Kinbu SHS community during what she described as “a period of grief.”
“I am deeply shocked and saddened by the tragic incident,” she stated. “Violence has no place in our schools! Our children must feel safe in their learning environments.”
Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings assured the public of her commitment to collaborating with the Ghana Police Service and other relevant agencies to ensure that a thorough investigation is conducted and justice is swiftly served. She emphasized the need for urgent action to prevent such incidents from happening again, stating that this tragedy must be “a wake-up call for all stakeholders in the education and security sectors.”
She also highlighted the need to reassess and strengthen safety protocols in schools across the country. “It is imperative that we take immediate steps to prevent such incidents from recurring,” she said.
As the MP for the area, Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings reaffirmed her dedication to working closely with the Ghana Education Service, school authorities, community leaders, and security agencies. Her goal, she noted, is to enhance both physical safety and mental health support systems within schools in her constituency and beyond.
“This tragic loss underscores the urgent need for a holistic approach to school safety,” she concluded. “We must invest in not only physical security but also the emotional and psychological well-being of our students.”
