President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in Britain for a working visit that includes meetings with King Charles III and Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer.
The announcement was made by the Presidency in a post on X on Sunday, outlining a series of high-level engagements aimed at strengthening relations between Ghana and the United Kingdom.
According to the Presidency, the visit is focused on enhancing economic cooperation, attracting investment, and engaging with the Ghanaian community in Britain.
The Presidency said the trip would feature “a royal audience with King Charles III” as well as “a meeting with UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer” as part of efforts to deepen bilateral relations between the two countries.
President Mahama is also expected to participate in the Ghana-UK Investment Summit, where he will engage investors and business leaders on opportunities within Ghana’s economy.
The Presidency noted that the President will hold “interactions with global investors and business leaders” during the visit as the government seeks to attract foreign direct investment and strengthen economic partnerships.
As part of his itinerary, President Mahama will address audiences at Chatham House and the Africa Debate in London. The engagements are expected to provide a platform for him to outline Ghana’s economic agenda and discuss issues affecting the African continent.
The President is also scheduled to engage officials at the London Stock Exchange to highlight Ghana’s participation in international financial markets and showcase opportunities for investors.
According to the Presidency, the visit forms part of broader efforts to position Ghana as an attractive destination for investment and international business partnerships.
The Presidency stated that the visit “underscores Ghana’s commitment to deepening international partnerships, promoting investment opportunities, and advancing economic transformation for sustainable growth.”
The working visit comes as the Mahama administration pursues policies aimed at economic recovery, job creation, and increased investor confidence.
The government believes stronger ties with key international partners such as the United Kingdom will support efforts to expand trade, attract capital, and drive long-term economic development.
President Mahama is expected to hold several meetings throughout the visit before returning to Ghana.
