Agricultural College planned for Builsa South – Dr. Apaak

Member of Parliament for Builsa South and Deputy Minister for Education, Dr. Clement Abas Apaak, has announced plans to establish an Agricultural College in the constituency as part of efforts to strengthen agricultural development and expand access to practical, skills-based education.
Dr. Apaak announced while engaging the Chief and people of Uwasi during the Feok Festival celebrations on Tuesday, December 30, 2025. He later shared details of the visit and development commitments in a post on his official Facebook page.
According to the MP, the proposed Agricultural College is intended to support farmers and young people in the area by improving access to agricultural education and training.
“I announced plans for the establishment of a Farmer’s Service Centre and the establishment of an Agricultural College in Builsa South,” Dr. Apaak wrote.
During the engagement, the Chief of Uwasi outlined several challenges confronting the community, including the poor state of the road linking Uwasi to Fumbisi, limited electricity coverage in parts of the community, and concerns about security. The Chief also appealed for the establishment of a police post, support for a community centre, and assistance with the rehabilitation of the palace.
Dr. Apaak said he assured the gathering of the government’s commitment to addressing these challenges, particularly in relation to road infrastructure and rural electrification.
“I assured the gathering of the government’s commitment to address the poor road infrastructure and to extend electricity to communities,” he stated.
He further explained that he used the occasion to outline efforts he has been making to ensure that these commitments are fulfilled in Uwasi and across the broader Builsa South Constituency.
Beyond future plans, Dr. Apaak highlighted interventions he has already facilitated in the community, especially in the areas of healthcare, education, and water and sanitation. He noted that the Queen Mother expressed appreciation for his fulfillment of a promise to construct a two-unit delivery facility attached to the CHPS compound, describing it as a major boost for women in the area.
“The Queen Mother thanked me for fulfilling a promise to construct a two-unit structure to serve as a delivery unit attached to the CHPS compound,” he wrote.
As part of his visit, Dr. Apaak also made a donation toward the construction of a community centre and pledged to contribute to the rehabilitation of the chief’s palace.
“I made a donation towards the community centre and promised to contribute towards the rehabilitation of the palace,” he added.
Dr. Apaak said the initiatives outlined during the Feok Festival engagement reflect his continued commitment to improving livelihoods and promoting inclusive development in Builsa South.
