Dr. Apaak reaffirms development commitments at Feok Festival

Deputy Minister for Education and Member of Parliament for Builsa South, Dr. Clement Abas Apaak, has reiterated the government’s commitment to addressing key development challenges in Uwasi and surrounding communities following his participation in the Feok Festival celebrations in the area.
Dr. Apaak disclosed this in a post on his official Facebook page after joining the Chief and people of Uwasi on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, to mark the annual cultural festival. He described the occasion as meaningful and highlighted several development-related engagements that took place during the visit.
“It was a pleasure to celebrate the Feok with the Chief and people of Uwasi yesterday, the 30th of December 2025,” he wrote.
According to Dr. Apaak, the Queen Mother of Uwasi used the occasion to express appreciation for his fulfillment of a promise to construct a two-unit structure to serve as a delivery unit attached to the Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound. He noted that the Queen Mother conveyed gratitude on behalf of women in the community and offered prayers for his well-being.
“The Queen Mother thanked me for fulfilling a promise to construct a two unit structure to serve as a delivery unit attached to the CHPS compound. She expressed gratitude on behalf of the women and asked God to bless and keep me,” he stated.
During the interaction, the Chief of Uwasi drew attention to a number of pressing challenges confronting the community. Dr. Apaak said these included the poor state of the road linking Uwasi to Fumbisi, the lack of electricity in parts of the community, and concerns about security. The Chief also appealed for the establishment of a police post, support for the construction of a community centre, and assistance with the rehabilitation of the palace.
In response, Dr. Apaak assured residents of the government’s commitment to improving infrastructure and extending electricity to underserved communities. He said he outlined ongoing efforts to ensure that these commitments are fulfilled, both in Uwasi and across the Builsa South Constituency.
“I assured the gathering of government’s commitment to address the poor road infrastructure and to extend electricity to communities,” he wrote.
As part of his engagement, Dr. Apaak made a donation towards the construction of the community centre and pledged additional support for the rehabilitation of the chief’s palace. He also highlighted several interventions he has facilitated in Uwasi, particularly in the areas of healthcare, education, and water and sanitation.
Looking ahead, the MP announced plans for the establishment of a Farmer’s Service Centre and an Agricultural College in Builsa South, initiatives he said are aimed at strengthening agricultural productivity and expanding educational opportunities in the district.
Dr. Apaak, a member of the 9th Parliament of the Fourth Republic, said the engagement reaffirmed his commitment to community development and inclusive growth within the constituency.
