How NDC empowers its base in preparation for a 2024 triumph
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is encouraging its members to actively participate in funding the 2024 campaign in a unique way that empowers the grassroots. They are urging members to contribute to the party’s campaign by purchasing ‘Good Governance’ cards, which presents a remarkable opportunity for all members to influence the campaign’s direction and, ultimately, the party’s governance in the 2024 general elections.
This initiative therefore is particularly significant, given the NDC’s historical commitment to being a party that represents the masses. It also aligns with the growing need in Ghana to enhance transparency and involve supporters in the political financing process.
By purchasing the Good Governance cards, supporters not only contribute financially to the party’s #RescueMission campaign for victory in 2024 but also position themselves strategically for a role in the future NDC government. With these cards in hand, they have tangible evidence to demand good and equitable governance under the leadership of the experienced John Dramani Mahama.
In politics, the saying “he who pays the piper calls the tune” holds true, emphasizing that those who provide financial support wield influence over the direction of a venture. Within political parties, those who offer significant and recognizable support hold more sway in decision-making. This selfless support places them in a prime position to be part of the governance, either as appointees or power brokers, ensuring the success of their efforts.
It’s not surprising, then, that there have been instances of a few individuals attempting to control the NPP after providing substantial resources and support in the 2016 and 2020 victories. Some prominent members and supporters of the NPP have openly voiced concerns about these attempts to alter the party’s traditions and principles.
While the NDC’s innovative approach is distinct from the NPP’s weaknesses, it underscores the crucial role that the umbrella party’s supporters play in its success. Supporters who embrace this initiative by purchasing Good Governance cards will help transform it from theory into reality, strengthening the organization and enabling it to rescue the country from what they view as a government characterized by nepotism, ineffectiveness, and self-interest in 2024, relieving Ghanaians of their struggles.
Importantly, this initiative is accessible to nearly everyone, as the pricing of the cards takes into account the socioeconomic differences among supporters. Wealthy supporters can choose from higher-priced cards, while others have more affordable options. The pricing structure recognizes that although individuals may have varying means, they all play a critical role in the party’s success.
The loyalty card, priced at GH¢250, holds particular significance as a genuine display of loyalty and commitment to the Akatamanso family’s cause. In an economy marked by high unemployment and rising prices, anyone who purchases such a card demonstrates remarkable support for the party in the face of daunting challenges and should be duly rewarded with effective policies and programs when the time comes.
While obtaining the card demonstrates unwavering support, how the funds are utilized is essential to sustaining momentum and achieving the ultimate goal of the #RescueMission. Fortunately, the national executives, led by Johnson Asiedu Nketiah (General Mosquito) and Fiifi Fiavi Kwetey, have established a transparent and effective strategy to receive and allocate funds exclusively for campaign purposes. This approach not only motivates more members to contribute but also ensures that the funds contribute to the party’s efforts to secure victory in 2024.
The call to action is clear: members are urged to embrace this challenge by contributing through card purchases, ensuring that the party has the necessary resources to tour the country and promote its message and presidential candidate for the 2024 victory. Party executives also have a responsibility to market the cards to members, as this initiative, despite its merits, will not sell itself. Internal party structures worldwide should be engaged in promoting the initiative and educating members on its significance.

Only through collective efforts can the NDC garner widespread interest and participation in this innovative approach to fundraising, which aims to remove what they see as a nepotistic, incompetent, and self-serving NPP government.
Together, the NDC can achieve its goals, and your support will undoubtedly make a difference after the 2024 victory!
