Emulate Prof. Frimpong-Boateng – Dr. Apaak tells So-called neutrals
The Member of Parliament for Builsa South, Dr. Clement Apaak has stated that the former Environment Science and Technology, Prof Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng.
“Prof Boateng deserves commendation for speaking the truth. Let his example be emulated by all, especially those so-called neutrals, who were hoodwinked into believing that this USELESS Akufo-Addo/Bawumia gov’t had good intentions for our Republic,” Dr. Apaak stated.
Commenting on the development on the attack on United Television the former Minister for Environment Science and Technology, Prof Kwabena Frimpong Boateng stated that said he awoke to a flurry of phone calls and messages from friends, acquaintances, and numerous supporters of the NPP (New Patriotic Party).
He said these concerned communications all centered around a distressing incident involving an assault on a media outlet, UTV. It has become clear that the perpetrators of this attack have been identified as NPP members.
According to him, from what he gathered, this assault took place during a late-night live program. It appears that the motivation behind this attack was the dissatisfaction of these individuals with the content of the program, which they believed was unfavorable to the NPP.
he has always held the belief that in Ghana, the New Patriotic Party stands as the predominant political entity whose principles are rooted in upholding the rule of law, honoring the rights, opinions, and dignity of every individual, safeguarding fundamental human rights, promoting pluralism, and, most importantly, advocating for the separation of powers.
He further stated that to the best of his knowledge, the NPP tradition does not endorse concentrating political power within the hands of a single individual or a select group, along with their family, friends, or associates.
He also added that the entitlements to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness are divinely granted to human beings by God, and that is why they are referred to as fundamental rights; they are not bestowed by a benevolent government.
The former Minister said any individual or system that disregards these rights is acting in defiance of God’s will and lacks the qualifications for governance.
According to him, a political system that respects the rights of its citizens and endeavors to promote their well-being and prosperity, while in office, oversees genuine socio-economic progress and advancement for its people.
Prof. Frimpong-Boateng stated that however, regrettably, the current situation in Ghana seems to be heading in the opposite direction.
According to him, any political tradition that originates from tyranny or adopts despotic behaviors, in his view, goes against the natural laws and the divine laws.
He said when any ruler, whether born into power or acquiring it, takes on the roles of legislator, judge, and monarch simultaneously, they essentially elevate themselves to a god-like status and disregard the authority of the Almighty God.
He narrated that around eight years ago, when the NPP was in opposition, they were financially struggling. To address this, they established a Mobile Money (MOMO) account and appealed to their members and supporters for small donations to support the party’s campaign efforts. The party ultimately won the elections and came into power, with a prominent promise to combat corruption.
However, it appears that some individuals within the party and the government have become immensely wealthy to the point where they seem to have forgotten the party’s financial difficulties from eight years ago. These individuals are now spending significant amounts of money to influence the electorate’s votes in favor of their preferred candidates during internal party elections. NPP, HOW DID WE GET HERE?
Nevertheless, the Ghana Police Service has revealed that a total of sixteen individuals were apprehended for trespassing into the UTV studios on Saturday evening.
In response to a report from the Despite Media Group and the Ministry of Information regarding an intrusion into U-TV’s studios earlier that evening, the police swiftly arrived at the location and detained sixteen (16) individuals believed to be linked to the incident.
