Mahama appoints Brig. Gen. Glover Annan as new Customs Commissioner

President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Brigadier General Glover Ashong Annan as the new Commissioner of the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority.
“This appointment is expected to bring a fresh perspective to the division, with Brig. Gen. Annan tasked to reset the Customs Division and support the Ghana Revenue Authority in achieving its revenue targets.
“As a well-respected, dedicated, principled, and patriotic Commissioned Officer of the Ghana Army, Brig. Gen. Annan brings a wealth of experience to his new role. Prior to his appointment, he served as the Presidential Security Coordinator, playing a key part in national security and strategic operations.”
The appointment of Brig. Gen. Annan is part of efforts to strengthen Ghana’s economy, particularly in the area of revenue mobilization. The Customs Division plays a critical role in this regard, and Brig. Gen. Annan’s leadership is anticipated to enhance transparency and accountability within the division.
President Mahama has expressed gratitude to the outgoing Commissioner, Brigadier General Ziblim Ayorrogo, for his dedicated service to the Customs Division and the nation. This change in leadership is part of the President’s broader efforts to restructure and simplify government operations, as seen in his recent ministerial appointments.
