Okaikoi Central Youth congratulates Baba Sadiq

The Okaikoi Central Youth Wing has extended its warmest congratulations to Hon. Baba Sadiq Abdulai Abu following his appointment as Ghana’s High Commissioner to the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
In a statement signed by Samuel Tena Shika, Youth Organizer, the group described the appointment as “well-deserved” and praised Hon. Baba Sadiq for his “hard work, loyalty, competence, and immense contribution to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).”
“The appointment reflects the confidence of His Excellency President Mahama in Hon. Baba Sadiq’s ability to effectively represent Ghana’s interests and strengthen the diplomatic and bilateral ties between Ghana and Nigeria,” the statement said.
The youth wing expressed assurance that the new High Commissioner would “serve with distinction, integrity, and excellence, fostering stronger cooperation, trade relations, cultural exchange, and mutual growth between our two great nations.”
Addressing the appointee directly, Shika said, “To Hon. Baba Sadiq Abdulai Abu, we, the Youth of OKC, extend our warmest congratulations on this well-deserved appointment. May this new chapter be marked by success, wisdom, and impactful service. Your dedication and perseverance have earned you this honour, and we have no doubt that you will make us proud.”
President John Dramani Mahama appointed Baba Sadiq Abdulai Abu as Ghana’s High Commissioner-designate to the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The appointment follows the recall of Baba Jamal, who decided to contest the Ayawaso East by-election after the death of MP Nasser Mahama Toure.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs disclosed the appointment on Sunday, March 1. Baba Sadiq, the NDC parliamentary candidate for Okaikwei Central in the 2024 general election, is expected to represent Ghana’s interests in Nigeria and work to strengthen diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties between the two nations.
