Widow of former Ayawaso East MP supports Baba Jamal with T-shirts

Widow of the late Mahama Naser Toure, Hajia Amina Adam, has demonstrated her support for Baba Jamal’s campaign in the Ayawaso East parliamentary by-election by donating approximately 500 T-shirts and several packs of bottled water.
The contribution was delivered through a delegation representing Hajia Amina Adam, emphasizing the importance of party unity following the closely contested NDC parliamentary primary.
The T-shirts, branded with Baba Jamal’s image, along with the bottled water, are intended to strengthen his campaign outreach and mobilization efforts across the constituency. The delegation highlighted that Hajia Amina Adam is committed to ensuring that supporters from all sides of the primary contest work together to advance the party’s prospects in the upcoming by-election.
Baba Jamal, a former High Commissioner to Nigeria, received the donation with appreciation. The gesture is expected to support campaign activities and increase voter engagement in the lead-up to the by-election, which has been scheduled for Tuesday, March 3, 2026.
The by-election became necessary following the passing of Mahama Naser Toure, who represented Ayawaso East in Parliament until his death on January 4 at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital at the age of 60 after a period of illness. The NDC held its parliamentary primary on February 7 to select a candidate for the by-election, with Baba Jamal emerging victorious in a close contest against Hajia Amina Adam.
The donation from Hajia Amina Adam is seen as a significant step toward consolidating party support and ensuring a united campaign ahead of the polls. The T-shirts and bottled water will be used in campaign outreach to boost visibility, strengthen voter contact, and encourage participation in the by-election.
With the election date approaching, the NDC is focused on presenting a coordinated front in Ayawaso East. Hajia Amina Adam’s contribution underscores the importance of solidarity and collaboration within the party, highlighting that internal competition does not hinder the collective goal of securing electoral success. By coming together, party members hope to maximize their chances of retaining the Ayawaso East seat and honoring the legacy of the late Mahama Naser Toure.
