We have not suspended any project Ghana – World Bank

The World Bank has clarified that there are no suspended projects in Ghana, dispelling rumors and speculation about the status of its funded projects in the country.
In a statement, the bank categorically stated, “No projects in the World Bank-financed portfolio in Ghana are currently suspended.”
This clarification is important because there were concerns that some World Bank projects in Ghana might have been put on hold due to financial or governance issues. However, the World Bank has reassured stakeholders, including the government, development partners, and beneficiaries, that all its projects in Ghana are active and ongoing.
As a key development partner, the World Bank funds projects in Ghana’s critical sectors, such as infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, and energy. These projects are vital for Ghana’s economic growth and social development.
According to the World Bank’s website, Ghana has been working to stabilize its economy after facing fiscal challenges, including high inflation and a depreciating currency. The government has been working with international institutions like the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to get financial support and policy guidance.
The World Bank’s statement is crucial for Ghana’s economic recovery efforts. It helps to remove uncertainty and ensures that development projects continue without disruption. This is important for maintaining public confidence and attracting foreign investment.
World Bank has confirmed that all its projects in Ghana are ongoing, and there are no suspensions. This is good news for Ghana’s development and economic growth prospects.
