India’s Prime Minister visits Ghana on July 2: Press Statement

India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, visits Ghana on a two-day official visit from Wednesday, July 2, to Thursday, July 3, 2025.
A statement issued by the presidency and signed by the minister of state in charge of government communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, described the visit as a reflection of the strong and enduring relationship between the two nations.
The statement noted that Prime Minister Modi’s visit will include a bilateral meeting with President John Dramani Mahama at the Presidency, with the aim of enhancing collaboration in key areas of shared national interest.
“The two leaders will engage in discussions aimed at deepening cooperation across various sectors, including trade, investment, agriculture, technology, education, healthcare, and energy. They will also exchange views on regional and global issues of mutual interest.”
The visit will also see the signing of multiple bilateral agreements designed to bolster cooperation frameworks between Ghana and India. A press conference will follow.
In addition, the presidency will host a state dinner in honor of India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, and his delegation.

“The visit by Prime Minister Modi is expected to strengthen bilateral ties, foster deeper economic cooperation, and solidify the bonds of friendship between the peoples of Ghana and India,” the statement concluded.
There is a huge Indian community in Ghana, with many professionals from India establishing successful businesses in Ghana in nearly all sectors of the economy in the areas of education, agriculture, commerce, and manufacturing.
The relationship between Ghana and India in the areas of health, economy, education, and business is expected to be discussed and enhanced for the mutual benefit of both countries.
