We have postponed our meeting with Adwoa Safo – NPP’s Disciplinary Committee

The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) disciplinary committee has postponed its meeting with former Member of Parliament Sarah Adwoa Safo, initially scheduled for April 7, 2025. The decision comes after emerging scheduling adjustments and internal considerations.
In a letter signed the Secretary of the Disciplinary Committee, and William Yamoah, Director of Finance and Administration, the committee stated, “Further to our earlier correspondence dated March 24, 2025, with reference number NPP/HQGS/2025/24/03/DC, inviting you to appear before the Disciplinary Committee on Monday, April 7, 2025, we wish to notify you that the said hearing has formally been postponed. Emerging scheduling adjustments and internal considerations necessitated this decision.”
Adwoa Safo was referred to the NPP’s National Disciplinary Committee over comments made during a media appearance on March 15, 2025, where she allegedly made statements that violated party unity and loyalty directives. The party cited Article 3(5) of its constitution, requiring members to uphold, defend, and promote the party’s reputation at all times.
The NPP reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the values of fairness, due process, and procedural integrity in all its deliberations. The committee will notify Adwoa Safo promptly of the new date and time for the hearing once rescheduled.
As a former Member of Parliament, Deputy Majority Leader, and Minister of State, Adwoa Safo is expected to uphold the highest standards of discipline, loyalty, and unity, which are the founding principles of the NPP. The party’s leadership stressed that it is impossible to overlook non-compliance with constitutional duties, especially by senior party officials who have held leadership positions.
The postponement of the meeting has raised questions about the implications for Adwoa Safo’s future in the party and the potential consequences of the disciplinary action. The NPP has assured its members and the public that it will handle the matter with utmost fairness and transparency.
