Brazil extend Ancelotti’s contract to 2030

Carlo Ancelotti has expressed delight after extending his contract as head coach of the Brazilian national football team until 2030,
The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) confirmed on Thursday, May 14, that the experienced Italian manager had signed a fresh four-year contract that will keep him in charge of the five-time world champions beyond the 2026 FIFA World Cup and through to the 2030 tournament.
Speaking after the announcement, Ancelotti said he was excited to continue working with Brazil and determined to help return the national team to the top of world football.
“We are very happy to announce that we will continue together for another four years,” Ancelotti said. “The CBF and I want more — more victories, more time, more work.”
The 66-year-old took over as Brazil coach in May 2025 after ending his successful spell with Real Madrid. Since his appointment, he has guided Brazil through qualification for the 2026 World Cup, recording five wins, two draws and three defeats.
The former Real Madrid manager added that he remains focused on bringing trophies back to the country.
“Our ambition is clear — to compete at the highest level and make Brazil champions again,” he said. “We know the expectations are high, but we are working hard to build a team capable of success.”
“From the very first minute, I understood what football means to this country,” he said, while expressing appreciation for the warm reception he had received since taking charge.
Ancelotti also thanked Brazilian football authorities and supporters for the confidence shown in him, saying he quickly came to understand the deep passion Brazilians have for football.
Brazilian football officials described the contract extension as an important step in building a stronger and more competitive national team ahead of future international tournaments, as Brazil chase a sixth World Cup title, having last lifted the trophy in 2002.
