Tertiary Business Sense Challenge: Education is the backbone of Ghana’s growth – Dr. Apaak

The Deputy Minister for Education, Dr. Clement Apaak, has disclosed the importance of education in Ghana’s growth.

This is contained in a speech read on his behalf by the Director for Tertiary Education at the Ministry of Education, Dr. Emmanuel Newman, at the annual competition for business students in tertiary institutions, ‘Tertiary Business Sense Challenge’, organized by the Graphic Business.

Graphic Business is the nation’s leading business and financial newspaper that is published by the Graphic Communications Group Ltd (GCGL).

This year’s edition, on the theme: “Entrepreneurial Edge: Sharpening Skills for a Dynamic Future”, seeks to unearth the entrepreneurial skills and application of business knowledge and skills of tertiary business students.

“It is a pleasure to recount how the Tertiary Business Sense Challenge has grown from a modest platform in the last seven years to a competitive stage where tertiary institutions in the country are represented by the crème de la crème of their business brains.

“The past six editions have offered a grand platform for the growth and development of budding business minds who have now transitioned into the work space environment”, Dr. Apaak stated.

He continued “As a brand of Graphic Communications Group Ltd, Ghana’s foremost media company known for its adherence to ethical values and excellence, this platform is not one the Ministry of Education takes for granted; it is a platform we respect and cherish as a complementary learning stage for the country’s next generation of business brains and leaders”.

He further stated that Graphic Communications Group Ltd, whose business brand, Graphic Business, birthed this event, is associated with excellence in business reporting, providing relevant information and analysis that have helped to shape economic policies and business ideas.

“Education is the backbone of our nation’s growth, and initiatives like this underscore its significance in shaping our collective future.

“Therefore, the objective of this competition is to challenge the youth to go out of their comfort zones and give their best in whatever they pursue”, the Deputy Minister stated.
