Asaase Radio’s reports blatant falsehood – Kennedy Agyapong

The former member of parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has rejected a recent report by Asaase FM, labeling it as a “blatant falsehood.”
According to Agyapong’s communication team, the report claimed that Agyapong was denied entry to the Prempeh Assembly Hall during the Ashanti Region Council of State elections, which is not true. The team stated that Agyapong was warmly welcomed at the venue and left of his own accord.
Agyapong’s team has condemned the report, saying it “distorts reality in a manner unbecoming of a media practitioner entrusted with the responsibility of truthfully informing the public.”
The team has demanded an immediate retraction of the report and a public apology from Asaase FM, warning that failure to comply will result in legal action.
Agyapong’s team emphasized the importance of responsible journalism, stating, “We will not stand idly by while falsehoods are spread to damage the reputation of a dedicated public servant.”
This is not the first time Agyapong has been involved in a controversy surrounding media reports. In 2018, investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas sued Agyapong for allegedly defaming him, but the court dismissed the case.
As the situation unfolds, all eyes are on Asaase FM to see how they will respond to Agyapong’s demands.
